CHILLAGOE TOWN PLAYGROUND

Public BBQ

Tucked away in the remote outback town of Chillagoe, this modest BBQ area offers a welcome respite for families exploring Queensland's rugged cave country. The playground keeps the little ones entertained while parents fire up the barbecue, though don't expect anything fancy - this is practical outback hospitality at its finest. The real charm lies in its setting: surrounded by the stark beauty of the Australian bush, with the famous Chillagoe caves just a stone's throw away. The toilets are conveniently located nearby, which any parent will appreciate after a long drive through the outback. It's the sort of unpretentious spot where you can enjoy a proper barbie while the kids burn off energy, before heading underground to explore the limestone caverns that put this tiny mining town on the map.
